- This online certificate meets the new California state requirements which regulate paralegals and legal document assistants.
- New Law now requires that a Legal Document Assistant and a Paralegal meet certain required law study - 24 semester units.
- The Paralegal Studies Program at Mission College provides 12 law classes (36 units) in an entirely online delivery format (12 units or 4 classes in excess of the 24 units required by new California law). The twelve (12) classes are as follows

- The classes are described at (course descriptions). The total cost of the program is $400 for the 12 classes, and $325 for books, or $725. (for California residents).
The classes cost $11 per unit ($33 per course) for California Residents ($128 per unit for out of State residents). Each class is a semester (15 weeks in length). The Fall Semester runs from September 4th to December 20th, and the Spring Semester from Februrary 4th to June 3rd. The Winter Intersession runs from January 2nd to February 2nd, and the Summer Session A (5 weeks - June 4th to July 5th), and Session B (5 weeks - July 9th to Augsust 9th). The Mission College Paralegal Program has a rich history, and has trained paralegals in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley since 1987.
- The online format requires the student to read and write extensively. Online classes demand a lot of work and students should be self motivated and disciplined to complete the tasks of quizzes, postings, and assignments.
